This Christmas long weekend, Thripzel invites you to a relaxed yet refreshing 3-day journey along Karnataka’s coast. This trip blends the best of Gokarna’s beaches, the quiet charm of Honnavara, and the dramatic landscapes of Yana Caves and Vibhuti Falls. It is designed for people who want a short break that offers both calm moments by the sea and gentle adventure in nature.
You start with an overnight departure on 24th December, letting you wake up to fresh coastal air the next morning. Over the next 3 days, you will explore clean beaches, try simple water activities, visit well-known viewpoints and lesser-visited pockets, walk through the stone pillars of Yana, cool off at Vibhuti Falls, and wind down at Honnavara’s peaceful backwaters. The pace is unhurried. The experience is balanced. And the group size allows space to enjoy the trip without feeling crowded.
Most groups focus only on Gokarna beaches or a single landmark like Yana. Thripzel’s route is mapped to give you more variety in a short span without rushing from one place to the next. This blend of beach, caves, waterfalls and coastal town makes our festive trip a thoughtful alternative to usual weekend getaways. Meet your Thripzel trip leader and co-travellers, followed by a detailed trip and safety briefing.
Departure from Bangalore is scheduled for 8:00 PM, with pickup available at the following locations:
Enjoy fun introductions, light games and music to set the festive mood during the overnight ride towards coastal Karnataka.
Note: There may be delays due to traffic conditions on the day of departure, so travellers are requested to arrive at their chosen pickup point at least 20 minutes before the scheduled time.
Early Morning: Halt at Jog Falls around 7:00 AM and soak in sweeping views of one of India’s tallest and most iconic waterfalls from the designated viewpoints.
Late Morning: Continue onward and arrive at campsite in Kumta at 10 AM
Freshen up and have breakfast at 10:30 AM.
Daytime Boat Activities
Head for Gokarna-side coastal water activities, where you will join a guided boat ride and enjoy time by the shore, subject to safe sea conditions and local availability.
Participate in beach games, upbeat music sessions, and relaxed group activities on the sand for a fun Christmas day by the sea.
Evening & Night
Return to the campsite, freshen up, and unwind.
Enjoy a dinner at the campsite at 9 PM.
Chill at night with music, conversations, and stargazing, creating a cosy camping atmosphere.
Overnight tent stay (2 people sharing per tent).
Wind up for the day at 11 PM.
Wake up early and get ready for the day.
Morning: Have breakfast at the campsite at 8:30 AM and depart with the Thripzel team towards Yana caves.
Late Morning: Embark on a forest trail to Yana Caves, exploring the dramatic black limestone rock formations and temple area nestled amidst thick greenery.
Afternoon: Proceed to Vibhooti Waterfalls, a picturesque forest waterfall where you can sit by the pools, click photos and enjoy the cool water, subject to road conditions and available time.
Evening: Drive back to the campsite at Kumta and relax.
Dinner served around 9:00 PM.
Enjoy a campfire evening with music and informal group activities.
Wake up early and prepare for the check out and sightseeing.
Morning: Breakfast at the campsite at 8:30 AM and followed by check-out.
Visit Murudeshwar Temple, celebrated for its towering Shiva statue and sea-facing temple complex, with time for darshan, seafront views and photos.
A walk along the Sharavathi Kandla Mangrove Boardwalk, following a well-built wooden pathway that cuts through dense mangroves and offers scenic river and creek views.
A calm backwater boating session on the Sharavathi backwaters at Honnavara, admiring mangrove landscapes and tranquil channels from the boat, subject to operations and availability.
Capture group photos, share final moments, and begin the overnight return journey to Bangalore with Thripzel in the evening.
Expected arrival in Bangalore around 6:00 AM, depending on highway traffic and road conditions.
